Morocco’s foreign minister protested at “unacceptable, professional mistake” of the Swedish embassy’s advisor Block-Mazoyer. The Minister said in a statement that he expressed to the Swedish ambassador a “serious breach of the diplomatic practices and an unacceptable professional mistake committed by the embassy’s adviser, Anna Block-Mazoyer.” The Swedish embassy’s advisor gave to some separatists, linked to Algeria and the “Polisario”, an official document that was handed by the Foreign Ministry to the Swedish embassy within the framework of diplomatic contacts according to the same source.

The statement added tha handing this document to the separatists infringes the ethics and rules of diplomatic professionalism, which require that the contents of exchanged documents be sent exclusively to the governmental authorities of the represented countries. “They can, by no means, be used against the interests of the country of accreditation,” it stressed, concluding that “for all these considerations, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation has informed the ambassador of Sweden in Rabat that the Moroccan authorities demand the immediate departure of Mrs. Anna Block-Mazoyer.”
